Do You Think Prompts Are the Secret Sauce of LLM Wrapper Startups?

Hacker News - Thu, 03/20/2025 - 8:29am

I think so.

Some angels and VCs worry about startups just being OpenAI wrappers, but good UX and well crafted prompts can be real barriers when you invest enough time in the right product-market fit.

The deeper you go, the more prompts become a real secret sauce especially when combined with complex agent orchestration.

What do you think?

Ask HN: Authentication for Emergency Department

Hacker News - Thu, 03/20/2025 - 8:25am

If you know about authentication, I'm seeking your advice please about how to do it better, safer, and faster.

The goal is for a triage clinician to get to a patient and immediately authenticate with a medical cart computer system. This software architecture decision record (link below, work in progress) explains more about the tradeoffs, examples, and needs.

Advice and guidance is much appreciated, and I'll share anything I learn. My direct email is joel.henderson@wales.nhs.uk.
