Ask HN: How do we handle the rise of low quality "This is LLM" comments?

Hacker News - Fri, 05/08/2026 - 10:28am

Every post that reaches the top of HN will have at least a few comments saying "This is LLM!"

It has become a proxy for "I don't like this article, so it must be a LLM"

To me, it feels like lazy karma farming, as these comments often do get a few upvotes.

And of course, accuse a 100 posts if being LLM, you are guaranteed to be right at least once, then like astrologers you can claim success.

Is there anything we can do to discourage this type of lazy and low effort posting?

Show HN: Slate – agentic pre-production studio for solo Youtubers

Hacker News - Fri, 05/08/2026 - 10:28am

I built slate as a personal tool to centralize my strategy, research, scripting, thumbnails and shots in one place. Started showing it to other youtubers and that made me wonder if more people could have the same problem as me.

Here's a quick walkthrough: https://youtu.be/7Ml5dVcFFds

I've been doing Youtube videos since I was a teenager. There's so many work before even recording: researching what's working in your niche, finding outliers worth studying, obsessing over titles and thumbnails that will earn you the click, writing scripts that actually hold viewers attention and somehow keeping your B-roll from turning into a mess.

Big channels hire teams for this. Solo creators struggle juggling dozens of tabs, google docs and notion templates.

I'd love to hear for feedback.
