Show HN: Upvotics – Track Reddit conversations where people need your product

Hacker News - Mon, 02/16/2026 - 5:42am

Hey HN!

I spent way too much time manually searching Reddit for mentions of problems my SaaS solved. I'd search keywords daily, miss conversations by hours, and get buried when I finally showed up.

So I built Upvotics to automate the listening part. It monitors subreddits for keywords, tracks mentions as they happen, and surfaces conversations where people are already asking for what you're building.

What it does: - Real-time keyword tracking across subreddits - User/subreddit engagement analytics (karma, post frequency, sentiment) - Rule checker (catches common removal triggers before you post) - Browser extension for contextual insights while browsing

What makes it different from Reddit search: - Tracks over time (not just one-off searches) - Browser extension for easy access without switching tabs - Surfaces intent signals (people asking questions, complaining about competitors) - Helps you engage naturally instead of spamming links

It's early. Just launched yesterday, already have 5 trial users. Would love feedback on what feels useful vs unnecessary, especially if you've tried similar tools.

Show HN: Vocalinux // 100% offline voice typing for Linux

Hacker News - Mon, 02/16/2026 - 5:32am

Show HN: Vocalinux – 100% offline voice typing for Linux I built this because I wanted voice dictation without sending my voice data to cloud services. Vocalinux is a privacy-focused, open-source dictation tool that runs entirely on your Linux machine: - Local speech recognition (whisper.cpp, VOSK, or OpenAI Whisper) - Works offline, no network required - Universal compatibility (X11/Wayland, any app) - Voice commands: "period", "delete that", "new line" Installation: one-line curl command with auto-detection for GPU/CPU GitHub: https://github.com/jatinkrmalik/vocalinux Questions and feedback welcome!
