Ask HN: Sources of reasonably-priced EV code signing certs?

Hacker News - Tue, 11/19/2024 - 10:37am

We've been with Digicert since the early '10s, but they have finally circled completely down the drain. They now default to a monthly subscription that ends up costing over $800 a year for an EV Code Signing cert.

In comparison our last renewal with them was at around $180 /yr, so the jump in price is completely unhinged and mind-boggling.

Where do you all source your EV certs these days?

Would love to hear about any good and bad experiences. If you have connections with sensible sales people, would appreciate those too.
