Show HN: Blinken: A macOS menubar utility for a disk read/write LED light

Hacker News - Fri, 05/29/2026 - 4:40am

I had ~4 hours on a flight home yesterday so had fun building my first-ever macOS menubar utility (took me longer to figure out how to build a pretty DMG folder). Free to grab from the link or just fork the repo and have fun.

Ask HN: How do you present mind maps?

Hacker News - Fri, 05/29/2026 - 3:44am

I’ve noticed something interesting in my team.

Our QA team often writes test cases as mind maps. They’re great for organizing scenarios, branches, and edge cases.

But when it comes time to present them, the workflow feels awkward. Presenters end up manually expanding nodes, zooming around, and constantly trying to direct attention to the relevant part of the map.

I’m curious how others handle this.

If you use mind maps at work:

- Do you ever present directly from them? - Do you convert them into slides? - Do you use a specific tool or workflow? - What frustrates you most about presenting mind maps?

I'd love to hear how people approach this.
