I built a small tool that converts PDF books into audiobook-style audio files using text-to-speech.

The idea came from wanting to listen to technical books and papers while walking or commuting.

The project is still in alpha but already works for many PDFs.

I know there are companies that are highly productive with AI including ours. However, AI skeptics ask for real studies and all of them available now show no real gains.

Many won't care unless you show them an actual study.

Hi all,

I've just noticed two of my Facebook pages are gone without a trace, so is my ad account associated with them.

They've been fairly inactive, but I'm pretty sure I haven't posted anything violating the ToS.

I've just spent more than an hour wandering around the incoherent cesspool that Meta calls Accounts Center and Meta Business Suite, I can't find a trace of the existence of these accounts.

I'm not sure when they disappeared, these were reserved for something I've been building and as I was getting ready for launch I just noticed I can't access them and typing their URL just gives "This content isn't available right now"

Both pages had a couple hundred real followers.

Has anyone gone through anything similar?

I was researching the personal finance market and initially found only a few obvious companies.

After digging more, I found a much longer tail of startups I’d never heard of, including products that launched, got some attention, and then seem to have faded out.

Oddly, that made me more interested in the space, not less. It made me think that competition by itself isn’t the important signal. The more useful question is why so many attempts failed to differentiate.

Do people here look at the “graveyard” when evaluating an idea, or mostly the current winners?
