Show HN: I've Been Cooking
Hey HN! We’re excited to introduce I've Been Cooking– a global recipe platform with over 6,200 curated recipes from all over the world, each complete with nutritional facts, step-by-step guides, a picture, and options for dietary customizations. Our goal? To make cooking easy, accessible, and adaptable for everyone.
Why It Stands Out We went beyond the usual recipe site by incorporating a full tech stack on Cloudflare’s edge. Here’s what that looks like:
Tech Stack: Built with Next.js on Cloudflare Pages, using Cloudflare Workers for backend logic and Cloudflare D1 to house our database of recipes, nutrition data, and user engagement metrics.
AI-Powered Personalization: Using Cloudflare’s AI, users can chat with a recipe directly on the page! Need to swap an ingredient, make a dish vegan or gluten-free, or adjust it for dietary restrictions? Users can interactively tailor recipes in real time.
Analytics Tracking: We’re tracking recipe popularity, usage patterns, and customizations to learn what users enjoy and improve future offerings. All insights are aggregated anonymously and help us refine the cooking experience for every visitor and this will help us sell sponsors later on.
All-AI Podcast: In addition to recipes, we’ve launched a podcast 2 days ago, fully AI-generated! Topics cover trending recipes, cooking tips, and world cuisines, with AI-generated voices narrating each episode. It’s been a fun way to expand our content offering, and it’s available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Amazon Music, and more!
Image Generation Pipeline All images on the site are AI-generated and tailored to match each recipe, making browsing a visually rich experience. Our pipeline uses multiple LLMs to assist in content creation and ensure the recipes are detailed and clear.
Early Traction We recently started posting on Pinterest, and within 90 days, our recipes have received over 200,000 impressions. Our social media presence is growing, and we’re already building a community of food enthusiasts.
What’s Next We’re actively improving the user experience with advanced search filters (country, dietary needs, time to prep, etc.) and a personalized recipe feed based on user preferences. We’re also planning new integrations with more advanced analytics and community features. New ways to attract sponsors using personalized experiences, and maybe launch a video podcast when the tech allows for it.
Would love your feedback on the platform! If you’re interested, try out a recipe, chat with it, and let us know what you think!

Do You Ever Receive Insider Information from Search Engines?
I'm curious about the extent to which SEO experts rely on insider information from search engines like Google or Bing.
Is all your knowledge based on publicly available resources, personal experimentation, and community insights? Or do some professionals have access to non-public information through partnerships or exclusive programs?
I'd love to hear your experiences and thoughts on how insider knowledge (or the lack thereof) impacts your SEO strategies.
