Show HN: I wrote a concurrent log parser in Go to learn about concurrency
I wanted to learn about using Go for concurrent tasks (e.g. using goroutines and channels), so I built a tool to solve a real problem I had at work. I wanted to parse CLF (e.g. Apache or Nginx) logs and store them in SQLite so I would be able to perform further data analysis on them without having to resort to "heavier" tools like Grafana.
It is mostly meant as a practice project but maybe someone else could also find it handy someday.
It is a little rough around the edges but overall I achieved with it what I set out to do and working on it over the last few weeks has taught me a lot about Golang as a newbie. Coming from the overcomplicated world of Node.js (both on the frontend and backend), I've been loving the simplicity of Go!

Show HN: I built a Chrome Extension to protect personal data from AI platforms
Hello HN,
I built Caviard.ai, a Chrome extension to help protect personal data when using AI platforms like ChatGPT and DeepSeek.
The extension automatically detects sensitive information — such as names, addresses, and emails — and replaces them before text is sent to AI services. You can toggle between the original and replaced values to ensure privacy. All processing is done locally, ensuring that sensitive data never leaves your browser.
Why did I build it? I wanted a simple solution to use AI services without compromising my privacy, as I noticed that many platforms freely access personal data for model training and other purposes. I couldn't find a tool that offered this functionality, so I decided to create one.
Feel free to try it out and share any feedback or suggestions! I'd love to hear what you think.
Thanks! Damien

Ghibli style, ChatGPT new image generation?
ChatGPT’s latest image generation techniques are getting closer than ever to capturing the hand-drawn charm of Studio Ghibli. But does AI-generated art truly evoke the soul of Ghibli, or just its aesthetic?
Some artists and developers are leveraging these tools to craft stunning visuals that echo Ghibli’s world-building and atmosphere. Others argue that AI lacks the imperfections and storytelling depth that define the studio’s legacy.
How far can AI go in replicating traditional animation styles? And where do we draw the ethical line between inspiration and imitation?

Ask HN: Seeking technical cofounder for marketplace startup (equity-only)
Hi HN,
I’m the founder of B-Roll, a marketplace that connects individuals and businesses with local photographers for quick, affordable photo sessions (15, 30, or 60 mins). We’ve built and launched a beta with real customers and photographers, and we’re now looking for a technical cofounder to help us level up.
The stack is Flutter (mobile/web) with Firebase + Supabase. We worked with an outside dev team to launch the MVP, but we’re looking for someone technical to take the reins.
We’ve already run paid and free sessions, onboarded supply, and validated interest.
This is an equity-only role for now — but it’s a real opportunity to help build something from the ground up that’s solving a real pain point for both photographers and everyday people.
If this sounds interesting, I’d love to chat. You can reach me at eric@b-rollapp.com or reply here.
Thanks! — Eric
