Show HN: Offline ESP32 that displays a new QR code every 30 seconds

Hacker News - 8 hours 20 min ago

This is my first microcontroller project: an ESP32 that generates a new QR code every 30 seconds and displays it on an e-paper screen. The idea is to use it for proof-of-presence or location validation. The device is low power and stays completely offline — it syncs time via a GPS module and generates everything locally. I also built a backend service that verifies the scanned QR codes to check if they are valid. The web interface displays device locations on a map and allows adding new devices directly through the site.

Ask HN: Google Workspace (impossibly) created on Gmail account

Hacker News - 8 hours 39 min ago

I've been getting e-mails about a Google Workspace having been created on my personal Gmail account, without my authorization, and repeated e-mails about Russian spam domains being added to it. I can't seem to log into the Admin Console, because Gmail accounts are not authorized to have Google Workspaces. Has this happened to anyone else recently?

I've confirmed there are no unknown devices logged into my account, and Google Support verified that the e-mails were legitimately sent from them.

Show HN: Which side are you? Elon? Trump? Hate both?

Hacker News - 8 hours 49 min ago

Hi, I built BrickOfEgo.com as a quick experiment after seeing the Musk vs Trump fight blow up. Don't take it too serious.

You can buy a virtual brick on either side. It adds your name and a link to the wall.

I vibe coded yesterday in about 1 hour. It’s just a static site.

Would love feedback from you here.
